About me

I am an Independent Consultant, with over 12 years of practical experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning in both the Humanitarian and Development Sectors. My experience covers 10 African Countries and Yemen. My other specializations are in: Project Planning and Management; Community Development and; Evidence Based Programming. Over the past 12 years I have supported a range of International and National NGOs, Partners, Networks and Governmental Institutions involved in humanitarian and development work to solve their Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning needs, consequently improving their quality of programming. I have set up and managed MEAL systems; facilitated trainings, meetings and conferences; coordinated and conducted assessments, reviews and evaluations; and provided support in various other MEAL related areas. My experience covers projects targeting diverse community groups and supported by varied donors.

I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Project Planning and Management, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Community Development. I have attended several other MEAL technical trainings both locally and internationally. I am trained as a facilitator by Professional Trainers Association of Kenya and other organizations, as well as a mentor with REDR UK.

I am based in Nairobi, Kenya but I work internationally.

Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning, and its related systems, works best when they are tailored to the needs of an organization. It is only by so doing that you are guaranteed quality programming. To this end, I employ mixed methods and approaches that are bespoke to an organization. The range of services that I offer include:

Technical Assistance

Technical areas that I offer support on include; Facilitating Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Workshops; Setting up MEAL Systems, Drafting MEAL Policies or writing MEAL Content; Periodic Qualitative Third-Party Monitoring, Assessments and Reviews; Output and Outcome Monitoring and Conducting Evaluations; Development of Theories of Change; Holding Speaking Engagements on MEAL; Moderating MEAL Conferences and; Representation of Organizations in National and International Summits.

One on One Consultations

I also offer individualized, one on one consultation services. These are tailored for individuals who are planning to venture into Monitoring and Evaluation as a career and require advice on how to go about it; or those individuals who are already in the career but facing specific MEAL related challenges and would like support to have them solved; or those who simply want to hear and receive guidance from someone with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience on the subject matter. These can be done face to face or via phone, skype or email.

Dorcas Kibachio: Dorcas is a Project Planning and Management Specialist with over 12 years of working experience with International and National Non-Governmental Organizations as well as Academic Institutions. She is skilled in Project Cycle Management, advocacy and research. Dorcas is pursuing her PhD in Development Studies. She also holds a MA in Rural Sociology and Community Development and a BA in Community Development.
